当法人は、全国的に増加している廃校の活用法を考え、地域コミュニティを再生していこう、という思いから、旧王余魚沢小学校を5年前から借用しアートの手法を用いた廃校活用事業を行っています。
この事業の一環として一昨年からさまざまな芸術の分野で活躍するアーティストに創作活動ができる場を提供し、地域住民やスタッフとともに作品展示やワークショップなどを通じて「人と人の交流」を図ることを目的とするAIRを行っています。
豊かな四季の彩りが、アーティストへインスピレーションを与え、様々な作品を生み出す源になることと思います。王余魚沢の財産である「自然」「校舎」「人」を活用し、創作拠点にしてみませんか？新しい形のアート・食・森との関わりに関心の高いアーティストを募集します。

Our organization has considered ways of utilizing an increasing number of disused schools around the country, and with the idea to revive local communities we have taken out a lease on the former Kareizawa Elementary School for the past five years as part of a creative redevelopment project. As a unifying part of this project, since last year we have been providing a place where artists working in numerous fields can carry out their creative activities, an AIR with the objective of bringing about “exchanges between people” through exhibitions and workshops realized together with local residents and staff. The rich colours of the four seasons inspire new thoughts in the artists, a source giving shape to numerous artworks. Why not take Kareizawa as your creative base, and take advantage of Kareizawa’s assets; “nature”, “school buildings”, and “people”? We are calling for artists who have a strong interest in being involved in food, forests, and new forms of art.
